The evidence behind Genesyx

Last updated

The evidence for the Shettles theory is mixed, and a widely cited 1995 study found no link between intercourse timing and a baby's sex. Genesyx does not claim to change the odds; it helps couples who choose the Shettles approach follow it consistently and safely.

What we claim, and what we don’t

We do: coordinate the parts of the Shettles approach (nutrition, a supplement formula, at-home testing and timing) into one clear programme.

We don’t: claim that any product, food or timing can guarantee, or reliably change, the sex of a baby.

Key research

  • Wilcox, Weinberg & Baird (1995). Timing of sexual intercourse in relation to ovulation: effects on the probability of conception, survival of the pregnancy, and sex of the baby. New England Journal of Medicine, 333(23), 1517–1521. Found no association between the timing of intercourse and the sex of the baby.

Evidence for the Shettles theory is mixed. Genesyx helps you follow the theory consistently; no outcome is guaranteed. This page is general information, not medical advice.
